Watermelon Inspired Nail Tutorial

What more could you want from your nails than for them to look like watermelons? :)
I created this when I was bored with my plain nail colours. There's no need to go and buy the falsies when you can make them yourself!
Here's how I did mine, but honestly you can use whatever you already have or whatever you want! Just be creative and have fun. =D

Step 1: I painted my nails with a goreous pink nail colour. I used  Rimmel London's Wear Maxx in the colour 'baby pink'. It's beautiful! Make sure to do 2 coats! If I wanted them to look even more like watermelons I could have used a more red pink colour, but I just love this one so much!

Step 2:  I took a dark green and painted the tips of my nails. I thought the colour I used worked really well as it was really dark and metallic looking, but feel free to use whatever you have! I used Collection 2000's maxiflex 5 day wear in the colour 'green with envy'. Again, don't forget the second coat! Just to let you know, this is the area of your nail most likely to chip, so I like to have this on hand in case I need to touch up the look.

Step 3: Add the watermelon pips! I used Claire's Cosmetics Nail Design Polish in black. You could try using a regular black nail polish for this step, but I found it easier to use a nail design one as the brush is smaller and great for detailed designs. Carefully place small dots randomly over the pink area of the nail, I think I put about 8 dots on each nail. You could skip the second coat for this step, but do one if you feel you need to.

And voila!!
You have watermelon nails! These are a great way to brighten up your day :) Feel free to play around with some of your own nail designs!
